Q. What is an Orthodox Quaker?
A.
An Orthodox Quaker is
a Quaker who belongs to the Orthodox branch of Quakerism. Orthodox Quakers are Christians
and conservative in theology. They include "Friends United Meeting", "Evangelical
Friends International" and "Wider Fellowship of Conservative Friends".

"Orthodox friends” Members of a branch of Quakers resulting from the Separation of 1827 who were
evangelical and stressed the Jesus Christ of history and reliance on the Bible as
the authoritative source of religious truth.”
Q. There are already so many Quaker online communities and forums out there today, why create another one?
A. I really believe Quakers Online will offer something much different than the other sites that our currently out there. We are independently owned and operated and my hope is that we will offer a new and refreshing perspective on things. Judging from feedback I have received, I really don’t believe we will have much impact with Friends who are satisfied with their current meetings. But I do believe we will be a haven for those Friends who have become distant, both physical and metaphysically. As well, I think we will be better able to facilitate the new waves of Quakers yet to come, not just with this site, but also our future developments. All of this is a vision from God though and only time will tell if it has been genuine leading.
Q. If you are
inclusive to all forms of Quakerism, why is there a picture of Jesus in the header
of your template? Doesn’t it misrepresent Quakerism with its various beliefs and
organizations to newcomers?
A. In respect to the few Liberal Quakers who are on this website, I have
changed the homepage text to state that sometimes Quakers are not Christian. I would
also like to note that Quakers Online is currently a very poorly ranked Quaker website.
If someone were to do an online search for Quakers, they would come across many
Non-Christian Quaker websites before finding this one. (Personally, I think that
it is sad that so many nowadays not only don’t identify with Christ, but find him
offensive. All of the founding members of the Religious Society of Friends were
Christian. Jesus is an integral part of our heritage. If one can’t accept His divinity,
I would at least hope they could acknowledge him as a model for how we all should
live.)
